The objective of the Network Analyst is to provide technical support functions for the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) including the management of hubs, switches, routers, firewalls and servers.
Requirements:
Two to Three years hands-on technical experience with:
- Considerable network system design and development methods and techniques.
- Install, configure, and support the LANs WANs and Internet systems.
- Maintain network and workstation hardware and software.
- Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
- Manage performance tuning and capacity planning activities to enhance the performance of the network resources.
- Work with Third Party Service providers to resolve issues.
- Extensive knowledge of computer network system protocols.
- Considerable knowledge of capabilities, utilization, and limitations of data processing equipment.
- Proficiency and working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Working knowledge of Fiber channel technology
- Scripting experience such as Perl Programming or Unix shell scripting very desirable
Additional Requirements
- Basic knowledge of SAN technologies (HP,CISCO, NETAPP, EMC)
- Basic knowledge of Linux and Solaris
Responsibilities:
- Analyze information and respond with corrective action utilizing network monitoring technologies such as Solarwinds or Microsoft System Center (SCOM)
- Assists with administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure.
- Acknowledge and respond to service issues within the defined SLAs.
- Perform analysis on current systems and make recommendation on tactical and strategic solutions for Network, System and Storage Environment.
- Review, classify, prioritize, and analyze problematic situations and escalate as necessary
- Follow process, and demonstrate initiative
Preferred Experience:
A background in network engineering in financial services with experience in support. Several years experience in a technology role is required.
